David’s songs rose from every corner of his life. In lonely fields, battlefields, and palace halls. He declared, “The heavens declare the glory of God” (Psalm 19:1) after nights under the stars.

He trusted, “The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want” (Psalm 23:1) in the valley and on the throne. In failure, he prayed, “Create in me a clean heart, O God” (Psalm 51:10).

David’s inspiration came from seeing God’s hand in creation, in deliverance, and in mercy. Like David, our songs of faith grow when we notice God’s presence in both our victories and our valleys.
